Dear Members,

HQCC will be implementing a new rule to categorize and sort the image quality of all images shared on the forums.

To that effect:

  • If you are uploading images in their original size (e.g., 3000px and above), they must be tagged as HQ or UHQ when creating a thread.
  • If the images are of lower or medium resolution and are not the full-sized images from agencies, or if they are upscaled, they must be tagged as LQ or MQ:
    • Images under 2000px → LQ
    • Images above 2000px → MQ
Please note: any image that is not in its highest/original dimensions must not be labeled as HQ or UHQ.

We ask all members to follow this rule going forward. There will be a grace period of 2 weeks before enforcement begins, but we encourage you to adopt this practice immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
HQCC Team

How to Tag Your Post (MQ, LQ, etc.) + Update on HQ/UHQ Tags

When posting a thread, please remember to apply a quality tag to your post.

Where to find it:

  • Look at the top-left of the post editor (see red box in the screenshot below).
  • Click the dropdown menu (e.g., it may say “Pretty”).
  • Scroll down to the gray label section under "Support"
  • Choose a tag such as:
    • LQ = Low Quality
    • MQ = Medium Quality
    • Tagged, LQ & Tagged, MQ & Tagged, etc.
This helps keep the forum organized and searchable.

Please Bear With Us – HQ & UHQ Labels Coming Soon!

These tags are not available yet, but they will be added soon.
In the meantime, please continue using MQ or LQ based on the image quality.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Update: HQ & UHQ Tags Now Available!

We’re happy to announce that HQ and UHQ tags are now live and ready to use when creating your threads.

A huge thanks to Marc D and zibeno7 for making this possible!

Please remember:

  • Use HQ/UHQ only when posting images in their original full resolution (3000px and above).
  • Use MQ/LQ for lower-resolution or non-original images.

Thanks again for your cooperation in helping us keep the forum organized!

what about photoshoots? sometimes its mix of HQ & MQ images

Hi @King Kylie ,

Great question — thank you for bringing that up.

If a photoshoot contains a clear mix of HQ/UHQ and MQ/LQ images, you have two options:

  1. Create separate threads — one for HQ/UHQ images and another for MQ/LQ ones. This makes tagging straightforward and keeps things clean for users who are searching by image quality.
  2. Keep them in one thread — but tag it based on the majority quality (e.g., MQ if most are medium quality), and clearly mention in the post that the set includes both HQ and MQ images.
Either approach is acceptable — it's up to your preference. Just make sure the thread title and tags reflect the content accurately so other members know what to expect.

Thanks again for asking!

Best,
Terminator.

Bump  and a quick reminder for everyone: when starting a photo thread, please use the correct size tag in the title. Helps keep things clear and organized. Many thanks for all the awesome pics! :super::super:

Hi Everyone,

Just a heads-up: the tags—LQ, MQ, HQ, and UHQ—now come in different colors! This should make it easier to see and organise them at a glance.

Big thanks to the admin team for implementing this update!

Great news!!!

MarcD has updated the tagging system—threads can now have double prefixes!

Previously, we were limited to just one tag per thread, which made it tough to combine tags like HQ + Bikini or MQ + Leggings. Now, you can add multiple tags to better reflect the content.

This makes the tagging system much more flexible and useful.

Big thanks to MarcD for making it happen!

I have additional images to a set which another member has requested and have promised to upload them for him (https://www.hqcelebcorner.net/index...hby-brit-awards-20th-of-february-2013.393599/). This raises some questions:
Where to I put them; in that thread or do I create a new thread in the relevant section? (I did ask this in that thread last night but it appears not to have been picked up)
As I obtained them from another forum I cannot guarantee they are "the full-sized images from agencies" and thus in their "highest/original dimensions" (although they are in the same dimensions as the ones already posted). Is this still OK?
Presumably the 3000px HQ cutoff refers to the largest dimension (eg 2000px by 3000px)? If so, what are the minimum dimensions to qualify as UHQ?

I would be willing to upload further historical image sets if you are OK with this so I would appreciate the clarifications.

@pseer_uk Apologies for the delayed response! Thank you for your willingness to contribute more images. Here’s some clarification to help you:

It’s perfectly fine to upload images that aren’t the full-sized originals, as long as you label them correctly according to their resolution and quality (LQ, MQ, HQ, UHQ).
  • LQ: under 2000px - Example 1200x1800px
  • MQ: when either height OR width is under 2000px - Example 1800x2200px
  • HQ: when either height OR width is under 3000px - Example 2400x3000px
  • UHQ: when height & width is over 3000px - Example 3200x4400px
Regarding the 3000px cutoff:
Yes, the 3000px HQ cutoff generally refers to the largest dimension (width or height). Images with the largest dimension up to 3000px qualify for HQ, while UHQ starts at over 3000px.

For additional images, please create a new thread in the appropriate section, either the Event or Candid area, depending on the content.

If the images are historical (before 2020), please post them in the "Archive Candids" or "Archive Events" section accordingly. This helps keep the forum organized and makes it easier for members to find specific sets.

We really appreciate your contributions and would love to see more historical image sets! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Given the historical debate over this...as long as either the height or width goes above say 3000-3200pi, it would be okay to tag it as UHQ. I personally, when I post images eg 2800x3200 tag it as HQ (since one of the "sides" is under 3000pi} but will tag a 3000X4000 as UHQ.

Got it, thanks for clarifying. Could you please update my post with that? I’m on my way to the river and don’t have a good signal to edit it right now

To avoid confusion, let’s stick with what Pixar said.
